About Sunflower Valley Farm

Sunflower Valley Farm is nestled in the Blue Mountains behind Campbelltown, PA, on a wide stretch of land that's both a working farm and a labor of love.

Our Story

What began as a shared dream between a veterinarian and his wife has grown into a working operation with three pillars: horses, cattle, and clean energy. We raise our animals the way Calvin practiced medicine; with patience, attention, and respect for the creatures under our watch. We continue to run the farm with a sustainable view, investing in renewable energy solutions so the land supports us the way we support it.

The Animals

Our quarter horses share the property with a small herd of Belted Galloway beef cattle; a Scottish heritage breed easily recognized by the “white belt” around the middle of their bodies. Both the horses and the cattle are well-suited to our mountain pastures, and both benefit from the low-stress, hands-on care that comes naturally to us at Sunflower Valley Farm.

The Energy

Sunflower Valley Farm produces it’s own electricity through two large solar arrays, with a wind turbine installation coming soon. We use what we need and sell the excess back to our local community; our small contribution to a clean energy future, powered by the same Pennsylvania sun that keeps our sunflowers blooming.
